how it works.

Our Programs & Initiatives

PADS for Girls Monthly Mentorship Sessions:

We believe every girl deserves to manage their period with dignity. Period poverty shouldn't keep girls out of school or make them feel ashamed. That's why we fight: To ensure affordable access to menstrual products. To break the stigma surrounding menstruation. To educate girls on critical topics like: Building self-esteem Healthy young adult relationships Preventing sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) Recognizing and responding to abuse

Our Impact: We empower 40 adolescent girls (20 per location) through two years of monthly mentoring sessions every 1st Saturday of each month.

Back to School Drive:

Organized August / September Yearly To equip our primarily school-aged beneficiaries for academic success, we’ve annually distributed essential school supplies since 2021.

From fresh clothing to writing tools, we’ve empowered over 340+ young minds to confidently pursue their education.

Community Service:

Our program empowers young women to become catalysts for positive change. Through structured activities, we instill a deep- rooted commitment to community service.

Clean Up Campaign
Every July, our girls rollup their sleeves to tackle a critical community challenge: SANITATION. Following educational sessions on environmental health, they take action by organizing and leading community- wide clean-up campaigns.

Service Day
Each December, our girls dedicate their time to supporting orphanages, hospitals, or local organizations, transforming them into active contributors to their communities and the world.

Our Impact: Since 2019, over 340+ young women have contributed more than 4+ hours each to volunteer initiatives, totaling thousands of service hours.

Vocational Skills Training:

To graduate and earn certification, all mentees must complete a three-month vocational skills training program.

To equip our graduating mentees with sustainable livelihoods, we conduct a skills assessment in January of their final year. Based on popular demand, we provide a three-month vocational training program. This empowers our alumni with the skills and confidence to generate income, ensuring long-term access to menstrual products and financial stability.

Our Impact: We trained over 200+ mentees in pastries- making in 2022.

IMPACT
MEASUREMENT

Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) System:

We believe in accountability, integrity, and transparency at Positive Actions
Driving Safety for Girls (PADS for Girls). To ensure that our programs and
initiatives are effective and impactful, we have established a robust
Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) system. This system enables us to
continuously track and assess our initiatives’ outcomes, identify improvement
areas, and make data-driven decisions to optimize our interventions.

Our M&E system is characterized by:

  • Comprehensive Data Collection - 25 %
  • Measurable Objectives - 25 %
  • Regular Monitoring - 25 %
  • Periodic Evaluation - 25 %

Measurable Indicators:

Some of the key measurable indicators we employ include:

  • Surveys and questionnaires
  • Interviews
  • Focus group discussions
  • Program records and reports
  • Attendance registers
  • Pre and post-tests
  • Observations

By using these measurable indicators, we can quantitatively and qualitatively assess the impact of our interventions, ensuring that our efforts are making a tangible difference in the lives of adolescent girls in Liberia.
